Brand Feature: DAE Hair

I’ve been following Instagram fashion/hair/lifestyle/mom influencer Amber Fillerup Clark for a long time now. She started a hair extension company called Barefoot Blonde Hair after being a heavy user of hair extensions herself and creating full braided and wavy hairstyles that became synonymous with her image. Fast forward to a few years later, and she creates DAE Hair, a hair care line that now has a shampoo, conditioner, deep conditioner, and oil.

I was in need of some new shampoo, so for Christmas I asked for the full set (shampoo, conditioner, and deep conditioning). I’ve used it for a bit over a month now and so far I am pleased with the results! The reviews on Sephora are kind of all over the place, with some people singing tons of praise and others saying it dried their hair out, or stripped the color from their hair. The thing with hair and skin products is that it will always not work for someone, and they’re gonna let you know. Which isn’t a bad thing, but these products are not going to be a one size fits all and it’s important to remember that. These reviews definitely made me nervous to try it, but you’ll never know if you don’t try?!

My hair used to be super dry from getting it dyed, and then this fall I went to a new salon and the hair dresser worked some magic and even though I got my hair re-dyed (re: bleached), it was soooo silky smooth and hydrated. I go a few days between hair washes, even 5-7 days sometimes (haha cringe?), so my hair has seen its fair share of oily days. The first time I used this set, I did notice my hair had gotten a little bit drier. However, over the course of the month, I’ve noticed that my hair does not get as oily when it goes the stretches without being washed. So there is some give and take here. I’ve considered getting an Olaplex product but they are pricey for a small amount of product. Then again- having shiny, hydrated and healthy hair is really great.

So, do I recommend this product? Yes, I do. It smells amazing and despite the slight drying effect on my hair, I like that my hair hasn’t been as oily. It isn’t the cheapest, but definitely not the most expensive stuff out there either. If you’ve already got a great hair routine going on though, maybe don’t fix what isn’t broke. But if you’ve been on the hunt for a new routine/products, I say give this a go!
